The MAGUS Lum VD500 LCD is a professional inverted fluorescence microscope designed for advanced research in cell biology, biochemistry, microbiology, and live-cell imaging. It combines a high-performance optical system, powerful fluorescence illumination, and an integrated digital imaging solution, making it ideal for laboratories that require precision, reliability, and convenient visualization.
The microscope is equipped with a 100W mercury lamp that provides a broad spectrum of excitation wavelengths suitable for the most common fluorochromes. The fluorescence illuminator includes four excitation filters — UV, Violet, Blue, and Green — enabling efficient work with a wide range of fluorescent dyes. The mercury lamp is mounted in a centering lamphouse, ensuring uniform illumination and safe, convenient lamp replacement.
For transmitted-light microscopy, the system features a phase-contrast turret condenser with a brightfield slot and three phase annuli for 10x, 20x, and 40x objectives. Switching between brightfield, phase contrast, and fluorescence techniques is intuitive and fast, improving workflow efficiency.
The trinocular head supports two imaging configurations:
— mounting a digital camera in the side port,
— mounting a 13.3" IPS LCD monitor directly into the vertical tube.
The optical beam can be split 50/50 or fully redirected (100/0 or 0/100), depending on the working mode.
The set includes a 4K HDMI/USB digital camera, making it possible to display real-time images on the LCD monitor without a computer. This provides an ergonomic and autonomous imaging workflow that is especially useful for demonstrations, documentation, and classroom use.
The six-position revolving nosepiece allows installation of both brightfield and phase-contrast objectives. All objectives are infinity-corrected plan achromatic lenses with long working distance, optimized for working with culture dishes with a bottom thickness of 1.2 mm.
The fixed stage with interchangeable dish holders accommodates various types of laboratory ware. The mechanical stage attachment ensures smooth movement in two perpendicular directions, allowing the researcher to scan specimens precisely and effortlessly.
The focusing mechanism provides smooth coarse and fine adjustments via coaxial knobs mounted low on the frame, allowing the user to keep their hands in a relaxed position. The coarse focus lock and tension adjustment improve comfort when switching between samples.
With high-quality optics, adjustable ergonomic design, automated illumination control, and a rich set of accessories, the MAGUS Lum VD500 LCD is a powerful tool tailored for modern research laboratories.
Its modular architecture ensures long-term adaptability, allowing researchers to expand the system with additional objectives, advanced contrast techniques, and upgraded digital imaging tools as their research needs evolve.
